Biome
Living organisms found on the surface of the earth
are controlled by the climate of the region in which
they are found.  The organisms found in a region are
adapted to the long-term weather conditions
(climate) there.
A biome is a region, such as a
desert
, that is controlled by climatic conditions.  A
group of plants and animals are found in the region.
The plants are there because of the temperature
range, moisture availability, and soil type.  In addition
to these factors, animals are also controlled by food
availability.
